Member Inspiration Sketch Challenge

I assume you, like most scrappers, will find inspiration while browsing blogs by manufacturers, challenges sites and personal blogs. It's so nice to be a part of the MyScrapbbookNook community where we are lucky to have a lot of friends who make the most beautiful layouts and cards to get inspired from.

One of the layouts which caught our eyes this month was this beautiful layout by Miranda Wedekind.

DT member Lilith made a lovely sketch of this layout, and here is my take on it:

Layout made with My Scrapbook Nook November Kit

Head over to the MyScrapbook Nook blog to see the lovely sketch DT member Lilith made from Miranda’s layout, and how otherDTers interpreted her sketch. Come on and play with us to get yourself a piece of fame and glory as next month’s Guest Designer; you will find all you need to know on our blog.

New Stop And Scrap givaway winners

As just Julie E claimed her prize from the original drawing for the Stop And Scrap giveaway, I have picked three new winners:

The $25 GC: Linda
One $10 GC: Carol
One $10 GC: Lisa C

Ladies, you have until Tuesday 7 pm GTM+1 to claim your prizes. please shoot me an e-mail if you are a winner (look in the right hand bar for my addy) :-)

There will be no more drawings if the winners don't claim their prizes: the GC codes then will be returned to Stop And Scrap.

A christmas card and a fun Advent Calender

I can’t believe it’s no more than a month until Christmas! Where I live in Norway, we have had a very unusual start on the winter season, with temperatures above the freezing point every day and hardly cold nights. The grass is green, and the pansies still blooming, and it’s hard to get the season spirit. But there is one thing that never fails, and always takes me there, and it’s the advent calenders!

We in MyScrapbookNook DT thought it would be nice to do something together with our readers this last month before Christmas and we invite you all to be a part of our Advent Calender. Here is how it goes:

• This activity is open for readers of the MyScrapbooknook blog and the forum members
• 25 participants will host a giveaway on their own blog one given day between Dec 1-25th
• Anyone who comments on the participant’s blog could be a winner – being a reader of the Nook Blog or a forum member is not required.
• The DT will put up a link on the Nook blog each day to the actual blog hosting the Advent Calender

Please head over to the Nook blog to learn more about how to participate- and to get some major inspiration from the DT and Nook friends!

I have been busy with a big reno of my scrap room (photo's to come in a later blog post), but I have finally made my first Christmas Card this season. The Echo Park's Times and Season collection, featured in the Nook's November kit, is actually not a Chrismas collection, but I found the colors and patterns perfect for making a Christmas card anyway.

Do you make your own Christmas cards?

Stop And Scrap Giveaway Winners - and something not for sale

Hi!

I'm sorry about the delay in picking winners for the SAS Give away. I have had some internet issues over here, so I haven't been able to access until now. Don't you love it when your internet providers tell you "to check on their home page to see if there are known issues in your area" when you call them to ask what's going on?

I decided to let Random.org do my drawing: I gave orders to pick four numbers between 1 and 18 and had decided that the first numeber on the list would be the winner of the big prize, the $25 GC.

Here are numbers which Random.org picked:

The $10 GCs goes to Skippy, Julie E and TheBluebird11
Chad: you are the winner of the $25 G!

Congrats, ladies. Please send me an e-mail (see the right hand bar), so I can get your e-mail adresses. You have until Friday 4PM GMT+1 to claim your prizes. I'll draw new winners if any of the prizes are unclaimed.

Do you ever scrap your kids' art?

I have tons of drawn mastrpieces made by my kids, and I admit I just store most of them. But I love this clay eagle by DS9 so much that I just had to scrap about the fact that it is Not For Sale! Isn't it cute?

Sunday is Sketch Day at Creative Scrappers

Don't forget about my giveaway - I have four gift certificates to Stop And Scrap to give away. Pleas scroll down to the next post :-)

_________________________________________________________________________________

Sundays are ofte the day in the week where I can sit down and scrap or a few hours without beeing interupted. Creative Scrappers' sketches are early up, even for us at European time, so I often start my creative process by checking what the blog have for me.

Today Creative Scrappers provide us with this lovely sketch made by Nicole Nowosad

And here is my take on it with some close up photos.

DS9 and his buddy on an air craft museum. He is nuts about planes!

All materials except buttons from Imaginisce

I have so many ideas for this sketch, like last year's Christmas photos I haven't scrapped yet, some summer photos from my big pile etc etc. What about you, do you feel like playing? Don't forget to link your creation to the Creative Scrappers blog to get a chance to win a prize from our sponsor C'est magnefique Kit Club.

Stop And Scrap Giveaway!

I am so happy to be hosting Stop and Scrap’s giveaway today!

Stop and Scrap has been my favorite online scrapping store for the last two years. They stock all the latest and greatest scrapbooking supplies, and have a great pre-order system that lets you reserve items in advance. Here I find all my favorite brands in one place (did I mention their awesome prices?)which has made shopping so much more easily. Stop and Scrap ship all orders over $50 free within the US! And even for us overseas scrappers and card makers, the shipping fee is so low that we really can afford to shop online.

Stop and Scrap's first kit! In stock now!

Stop and Scrap also has a customer rewards program (details here) that allows customers to build up points based on purchase amounts. Those points can later be traded in for Stop and Scrap gift certificates.

I love Stop and Scrap’s state of the art customer service. Every time I've emailed them with a question, they always have replied quickly with a personal response- not a canned "form email." You have no idea how important this is to me!

I subscribe to Stop and Scrap’s newsletter. This way I know all about new releases and what there is to pre order. If you want to be updated on what’s hot, this is the newsletter you need.

Little Yellow Bicycle WINTER TWIG - in stock here

Don't forget to check out Stop and Scraps fab Clearance pages!

Echo Park WINTER PARK - in stock here

How would you like a chance to win a Stop and Scrap gift certificate? I've got a $25 code and three $10 certificates to give away (yapp, four in all!), and entering is easy. There are four ways to get a “ticket in the lottery”. You can
  • Simply leave me a comment on this blog post
  • Blog about the giveaway on my blog, including the Stop and Scrap badge and a link to this blog post
  • FB about the same giveaway. Don’t forget to link back to this blog post
  • Create a set of three Christmas Gift Tags, upload them to your blog mentioning you made them for this challenge with the link to this blog post.
You can choose either way to get your lottery ticket; you can even chose two of them or all four for more chances to win. For each way you have chosen, leave a comment here. I’ll do a random drawing on Tuesday November 22th 9AM EST and announce the winners shortly after. Each winner must respond within three days, or another winner will be chosen.

Good luck, everyone, and happy shopping!

Card kit swap

Have you ever had any of your scrappy friends make you a card kit?
It's so much fun that we do it on regular bases at My Scrapbooknook.

Late october I received this kit from Miranda.

I'm sorry for the lousy image quality.

And here is what I made:

Thank you, Miranda for this lovely kit. It was impossible not to make great cards with it :-)

To see what the other forum members make with the kits, and to get lots of inspirations as they are super talented, chech out this forum thread.

November Color Challenge - and a sad layout

Hi!

Katarina picked the colors and the images for My Scrapbook Nook's November Color challenge. Aren't these colors lovely, and the images happy?

Sunday was a sad day at our house. DS9 has had his budgies for abouth a month, but on Friday Fluffy didn't look too healthy and on Saturday we found her dead in her cage. She is now burried in our garden in a lovely coffin DS9 made for her from a shoe box.

DS9 begged me to take a photo of him crying so "he could have a memory of this sad day": He is such a sweet boy. And off course I did when he wanted me to, and he said the layout I made with the photo is beautiful and sad. Did I say he is a sweet boy?

My Scrapbook Nook November kit is perfect for this color challenge, but as mine had,'t arrived yet on Saturday, I decided to play along by using some papers and embellies from my own stack: This is mix of Glitz Design and Fancy Pants papers, embellishments from Glitz design and Prima.

If you want to play along with us in this color challenge, please upload your page to your blog and link back to us on the My Scrapbook Nook Blog.

Have a happy creating!

PS. Don't forget about my give away on Friday Nov. 14th! I have teamed up with StopAndScrap.com for a Count Down For Christmas prize!

onsdag 9. november 2011

Who would like a give away?

Hi friends.

I have some exciting news for you: I have teamed up with my favourite online store StopAndScrap for their StopAndScrap.com Christmas Countdown Giveaways.

On November 18th I'll run a give away on my blog, sponsored by StopAndScrap and you are all invited to go for it. There will be a super easy challenge involved, and I would love everybody, both card makers and scrappers, to participate.

What the prizes are? Gift certificates! One $25 and three $10 to the StopAndScrap shop! Please visit their main page to see which blogs to visit during the countdown - there is new gift sertificates to win every day (look for the Google calender in the right hand bar) and my blog is the place to visit on November 18th.

My order history with StopAndScrap goes back to 2009 and they have never disapointed me. Never! Their service is state of the art, they carry the hottest collections (and even do pre orders for upcoming collections) and the prices are the best. And I don't think any shop can beat them on shipping fees, even internationally! This is an online shop I recommend from the bottom of my heart so why don't you pay it a visit to check out what the staff there can offer you :-)

To celebrate this happy event, I'll give to you a layout I have made just for fun, made with papers (Imaginisce) and embellishments I have bought in the StopAndScrap store!

Journaling: When it's cold, and one doesn't have brains enough to dress properly, it's OK to have one's mama come with a blanket

Details: hand made papers trims

Thank you for visiting - and don't forget about November 18th!

MyScrapbooknook Blog Hop Winner

Thank you to all of you who participated in the blog hop and left a comment on my blog.

Due to tecnical issues with the message board, we are not ready yet to announce the winner from the "official" part of the blog hop. If the issues continues, it's most likely we'll announce the winners on our Facebook page, so make sure you Like us. Our FB page is a great source for chatting with us while the the message board is down, showing your creations etc. And I promise you: the DT is following our FB page closely :-)

Anyway, I let Random.org do the drawing on my blog hop RAK and here is the drawing:

Big congrats, Pysselpetra, you are the winner of a huge pack of budgie feathers!
No, I'm still joking, but e-mail me your adress, or send me a message at FB, and I'll send you a little something!

And if you're a good girl, Petra, I'll send you this card to go with the prize, made with the beautiful MME Card Kit from MyScrapbookNook.

Happy Birthday, Leah!

MyScrapbooknook's DT cordinator Leah Killian is 30 today.
She really deserves to be celebrated: not does she only put up the most wonderful kits and keep us DTers on our tip toes, she is a wonderful person as well.

So to celebrate Leah, all the DT members at MyScrapbooknook, have made a special card for her which we show on our blogs. To see what the others have done, use the list on the right hand side bar to find their blogs.

So this card is for you; Leah Killian, made with love. And you should start stalking the mailman, too, as we have a little extra surprise for you :-)

Happy Birthday, Leah! May your day be just wonderful!

My first layout for Creative Scrappers is up!

I must admit I am excited *lol*

Here is this week's lovely sketch, made by Juliana Michaels:

And here is my take on the sketch:

They just had to try it out at the Science Center: these air blowers are design to blow balls to learn about air streams, but the kids found it more amusing to use it for making funny faces.

A true mix of old papers and embellishments from different manufactorers

Please head over to Creative Scrappers to see what the other DT members did and to learn about this month's sponsor C'est Magnifique Kit Club. Their kits are devine! And why don't you give this sketch a try?

Welcome to MyScrapbooknook blog hop!

Hello everybody.

Welcome to the hop from My Scrapbook Nook!!!! If you came here from Carol Monson's blog, you are in the right spot. If not, start at Shellye's so you don't miss anything.

We're offering one lucky lady a 3 month subscription to these gorgeous kits and several smaller prizes for other hoppers!

We have hidden 7 birds among the design team blogs....so hop around, find the birds and keep track of who's got em'. Once you've found all seven, email those names to: myscrapbooknookdt@yahoo.com

One random winner from those that find all the birds will be drawn to receive a 3 month subscription to the Nook ;)

As for the rest of the prizes, they will be drawn from the designers blogs at random. So comments are optional, but the more you leave the better your chances are of winning a prize, which include kits!!! For an extra bonus drawing for a $50 prize pack- leave a comment at Danni Reid's link including a link where you have facebooked, blogged or tweeted about this hop- you can leave up to three comments for a shot at that $50 prize pack!

The Nook kits are filled each month with the latest paper collections and embellishments to make you swoon! They are a fantastic deal and our international ladies love the low shipping ;) If you sign up for a 12 month subscription you'll get a free kit after your 12 month mark! Now that's a bakers dozen of goodness!

Do you know what I really like about the Nook kits? It’s that there is always something for everybody! I scrap mostly about my two boys, and the papers and embellies in the kit are so versatile that you can use them both for feminine and masculine pages. The kits also fit any style – our DT members represent all styles as you will see if you look in our gallery. The kits are perfect for both cards, layouts and altered items.

Here is an example where I have used the October Kit (DS9 and his new budgies), featuring MME goodies:

Do you want to win some cute budgie feathers like shown on this layout? Just leave a comment on this blog post and I’ll draw a random winner for a package of budgie feathers!

No, I’m just kidding. I’ll do a RAK, but it isn’t about budgie feathers. But a cute bird is involved!

Thanks for looking and here are your hopping orders!

Hilde  --- you are here

Hop ends on Fri., November 4 at 11:59 pm.

Winners will be announced on Sat. November 5th!

Be Sure to check out our Christmas Card Class and New Contest "Card Sharks!" a fast paced, four week battle of creativity!!!!

Thank you for stopping by! Now, head over to Lilith's blog and have a look at her lovely creations!
